Netflix subscribers were enthralled by last year’s unpredictable teenage drama, Outer Banks. As the wait for the eagerly anticipated follow-up continues, an Instagram update from breakout star Madelyn Cline has brought fans one step closer to season two.
Madleyn Cline has confirmed filming for Outer Banks season two has finally wrapped up.
After premiering the surprise hit series’ first instalment in April 2020, Netflix renewed the young adult drama for a second season the following July.
Now, almost a year after its debut, Outer Banks is finally getting ready to reveal what’s in store for the Kooks and Pogues in the follow-up.
Over the weekend, Cline took to her Instagram page with some behind the scenes snaps of the show’s sunny beach locations in North Carolina.
She captioned her new post: “Happy OBX2 wrap. All my love. I’m not crying.”
In addition to some idyllic landscape shots, the actress also included some backstage snaps at her fellow cast members enjoying some time off on set.
Her latest social media update prompted her followers to speculate whether a release date or trailer could soon be on the way.
One fan commented: “This show has been a big comfort for me, came when I needed it and the whole cast has been so good to me.”

“I am so excited for season 2, until then I’ll be rewatching the first season 5000 more times.”
Plus, other viewers were keeping their fingers crossed for an eventual third season, though this has yet to be confirmed.
Netflix’s official Twitter account also confirmed the latest updates on season two, with a brand new look at Outer Banks’ returning cast.
Although a release date for season two has yet to be confirmed, the latest updates have raised hopes for the show’s return before the end of 2021.

Cline stars as Sarah Cameron in the new series, a wealthy seasonal resident on the Banks who gets mixed up with a local group known as the Pogues.
During the events of the Netflix series’ first season, Sarah and the gang stumble across a legendary treasure connected to the missing father of the Pogues’ ringleader, John B (Chase Stokes).
The streaming service was quick on the mark after the series dropped this time last year, and principal photography initially began back in August.
Fans have been craving the series’ continuation ever since, especially after the jaw-dropping final moments of the first season finale.
The series principal’ cast are all expected to return for season two, with newcomer Elizabeth Mitchell joining in a recurring role.
Outer Banks season two will now be entering its post-production stages, so fans should still expect to wait another few months before the show eventually returns.
Even so, subscribers were thrilled by the latest news after enduring months of radio silence from Netflix during the show’s crucial filming stage.
Meanwhile, Madelyn Cline continues to treat her six million followers to more updates on social media, including snaps with her co-star and boyfriend, Chase Stokes.
Outer Banks season 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
