Netflix’s crime drama Ozark is set to be returning to screens soon with its fourth and final instalment. The explosive series has seen death, betrayal and drugs, viewers can expect a continuation of those in season four. Despite this, fans believe Jonah Byrde (played by Skylar Gaertner) could shockingly betray his parents.

In a Reddit post filled with admiration for Jonah, one fan highlighted his odd relationship with his parents.

They wrote: “When Darlene butchered his hair, I noticed that neither Marty nor Wendy tried to fix it.

“They were fine with him walking around like that and Jonah also seemed like he had no expectation for someone to fix his hair,” the user explained

The fan concluded: “I found that incredibly sad. Nobody helped him until Charlotte came home a few days later and she immediately gave him a buzz cut.”

In season two, queen pin Darlene Snell (Lisa Emery) kidnapped Jonah and shaved half his head as a warning to his parents.

The Byrde family had rubbed her the wrong way after they relocated to the Missouri Ozarks from their home of Chicago.

They were forced to do so after a dodgy deal with the Mexican cartel went terribly wrong and Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) watched his business partner get shot.

In a bid to keep his life, he agreed to unrealistic terms of laundering $500 million dollars of cash in eight years.

This caused his parents to become so immersed in their business that Jonah hardly received any love or attention from Wendy Bryde (Laura Linney) or Marty.

With the lack of care shown to him after he was kidnapped by an enemy, fans believe season four will see Jonah realise he doesn’t need his parents.

The recent instalment showed the lengths he was willing to go and proved he wasn’t afraid of anyone.

Throughout the series, Jonah had evolved from a quiet and timid child to a gun-wielding teenager with anger issues.

Fans will remember, Jonah had a bizarre habit of killing animals for attention, although his mother blamed it on the Langmore’s it was clear he soon got over it.

The only time the teenager appeared to feel appreciated and genuinely loved was with the arrival of his uncle Ben Davis (Tom Pelphrey).

The two were able to bond to find common ground, without much of a social life, Ben was always with Jonah and bought him some company.

Unfortunately, in season three it came to an end when Ben was killed after his sister Wendy shared his location with a hitman.

Ben had become a danger to the money laundering scheme, after coming off his Bipolar medication.

He became antsy and started to tell people about his family’s involvement and when the Mexican cartel caught wind of his antics they wanted him dead.

Although Wendy initially tried to go on the run with him, she noticed just how bad his mental health had become and called him in.

Jonah was distraught and heartbroken after the death of his uncle and used a gun to aimlessly shoot the house.

Season four could see him learn how involved his mother was with Ben’s death and this could lead to him betraying his parents.

Ozark seasons 1-3 are on Netflix now. A release date for season 4 has yet to be announced.
