Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Alsion Hammond and Gino D’Acampo will appear in the This Morning Christmas special episode. The ITV favourite will see the usual presenters and an array of guests celebrating the season. At one point, Holly gifted Phillip a unique poem that brought him to tears.
Holly recorded a special poem with Tom Foolery, who Phillip recorded a poem with for Holly’s 40th birthday earlier this year.
The words paid tribute to Phillip and his strong friendship with Holly over the last decade they have worked together.
It concluded: “We’ve shared book birthdays and three times you’ve welcomed me here, you’ve been there for me through to this date.
“So as we wrap up this rhyme and we wish you a Christmas divine, we have one thing left to say that is true – you’ve been a mentor and friend and I hope that won’t end, and all I want for Christmas is that you keep being you!”
The ITV host, 59, was overcome with emotion as he thanked Holly.
Phillip blew a kiss to his colleague, who replied: “I really want to hug you right now and I know we can’t… but that’s very true.”
Phillip remarked: “Thank you so much. What a lovely present.
“It’s beautiful and thank you Tom as well, thank you so much.”
Fans of the show can also look forward to the latest addition of Holly’s family making a special appearance on the show during one of her gifts from Phillip – a jumper to match her dog, Bailey.
This Morning’s Christmas show has promised to be magical from the start, as a non-festive looking studio is suddenly transformed by one click of Father Christmas’ fingers.
The excited hosts – accompanied with a mix of Bucks Fizz and Negroni drinks – wish the nation a Merry Christmas.
Holly asked: “Has he been? It’s the most wonderful time of the year and we’re delighted to be spending it with you!”
Phillip added: “Whether you are busy opening your presents right now, or you’re tucking into chocolate or having a well-deserved lie-in… and whether you’re with family or friends or on your own this year, we’re here throughout the morning.”
The pair then dealt with an awkward moment when Aled Jones appeared, thinking he was booked to open the show.
When asked what he was doing here, Aled said: “I’ve come to get the Christmas show on the road.
“It’s taken loads of rehearsal but I’m ready to bring – wait for it – Walking In the Air back especially for you two.”
Before the track could fully kick in, Phillip cut in to say: “Aled, I’m sorry, there’s a possibility we might have to stop there for a second.
“I’m sorry, but we’ve actually booked Leona Lewis! Someone should’ve told you.”
This Morning’s Christmas special airs on Saturday at 10am on ITV.
