Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) is set to face another devastating loss in upcoming episodes after a burglary sees his last physical memories of Sinead (Katie McGlynn) lost. After the laptop containing the videos she filmed for her husband and her baby son Bertie is taken, Daniel is pushed to the edge.
But when he lashes out and throws accusations to a shopkeeper that he is dealing in stolen goods, the police turn up to arrest Daniel and calm the situation. Knowing what Daniel is going through, can Craig (Colson Smith) diffuse the situation?
Along with brand new pictures to accompany the storyline, ITV’s Coronation Street website teased: ‘Sinead’s family and friends gather for her funeral. Daniel returns in time and in a moving service everyone says their final goodbyes.
‘Daniel is devastated to discover that his laptop (containing all of Sinead’s videos) has been stolen. In a bid to track the laptop down Daniel hunts around the local pawn shops. Things take a turn for the worse when he accuses a shopkeeper of handling stolen goods.
‘The police are called but can Craig calm the situation before things go too far? Later, Beth calls at Daniel’s flat to find him sobbing on the floor. Can they begin building bridges in their relationship?’
Beth is seen cradling a broken Daniel but after the events of the week, it looks like there is a long way to go for Daniel to start picking up the pieces of his shattered life – and a future episode will see him hit by a car as he remains at rock bottom.
But will nearly losing his life and leaving Bertie orphaned give him a much needed wake up call?
As for the burglaries, it looks set to be sinister Kel (Joseph Alessi) who is to blame – and his own, even darker secret could come to light as a result, leading to Bernie Winter (Jane Hazelgrove) trapping him in a child sex sting.
