Greg Wise is the latest celebrity to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing after taking part in the dance off against Judi Love.

He and professional dance partner Karen Hauer performed the samba to Macarena by Los Del Rio, in the hope of impressing the judges and staying in the competition.

However, it was Judi Love and her partner Graziano Di Prima who danced their way to next week with their waltz to Mariah Carey's Hero, after judges Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke chose to save the couple.

"The judges have been given this opportunity to save the better dancer and, for me, the better dancer tonight is Judi and Graziano," said Craig Revel Horwood.

The judges all noted that the couples were quite nervous during the dance off, with Motsi Mabuse saying: "In the dance off I feel like both couples made mistakes and they were quite clear, but I feel that one couple recovered a little bit better with the situation.

"So I’m going to save Judi and Graziano."

Anton Du Beke agreed, saying: "I felt that the nerves got to both of the couples in the dance off, which is not surprising really, and they both made quite a lot of mistakes, but one couple maintained an element of composure through the dance and that would be Judi and Graziano."

However, judge Shirley Ballas was in disagreement with the rest of the panel, choosing instead to save Greg and Karen, but was out voted 3-1.

Greg is the third contestant to take off his dancing shoes and leave the competition, following the elimination of actresses Katie McGlynn and Nina Wadia.

When interviewed by Tess Daley about his time on the competition, Greg said: "I have had an amazing time, I feel unbelievably privileged and thank you all for having me."

His partner Karen thanked him for an amazing time working with him saying: "I have enjoyed our moments in the classroom, and just having fun with you, I’ve really enjoyed it."

The couple will be interviewed by Rylan Clarke-Neal on the programme Strictly: It Takes Two following their exit, which airs on Monday October 18 at 6.30pm on BBC Two.

There are now eleven couples remaining in the competition, after contestants including Robert Webb and Ugo Monye pulled out the competition last week due to health reasons.

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday nights at 7pm, followed by the results show on Sunday night at 7.10pm.
