Strictly Come Dancing final 2021 – Rose Ayling-Ellis SHOCKS fans with announcement as she reveals dance choices

Dec 16, 2021

STRICTLY Come Dancing's Rose Ayling-Ellis has shocked fans with announcement ahead of the final on Saturday.

The EastEnders actress revealed her and dancing partner Giovanni Pernice had selected their favourite dance of the series to perform again for the final show.

They have picked their Couple's Choice dance, which stunned the nation as the duo danced in silence for a section during the middle of their routine.

They will also perform the judges’ favourite dance from the series, as well as an epic Showdance.

This decision has left some fans unsure of the choice.

One fan wrote: "I didn't want Rose and Giovanni to do the Couples Choice because I don't think the silent moment will have the same impact again BUT it's a chance for Rose to really smash the technique! AND I know I'll cry. #Strictly".

Another said: "Bit surprised Rose & Giovanni are doing their couple’s choice again. I thought they would have the same opinion as Jay & Aliona did with their Jive in that they couldn’t do it again. #Strictly #ItTakesTwo."

Strictly's Robert Webb confirms absence from final

Strictly Come Dancing 2021 star Robert Webb has confirmed that he won't be taking part in this weekend's finale.

Posting a picture of himself and professional partner Dianne Buswell on a lunchbox on his Instagram, the star wrote: "Hullo! I seem to have switched from public to private mode and one of the effects of this is people will inevitably find their own ways to interpret my 'silence'. It isn't really silence, of course. It's just doing other stuff.

"But I thought I ought to pipe up because I won't be in the group dance of the Strictly final this Sat and I didn't want my absence (or my 'silence' about it) to be taken as evidence of any kind of bad feeling towards the show," he added.

"My love for Strictly is a season that is forever summer. However, the producers understood that when I had to stop, I had to stop completely. Dianne & Joe [Sugg] came over for lunch a few weeks ago and m'partner gets it.

"If I gave out a few more details about what the show had been doing to me physically & mentally, you wouldn't be surprised that the offer of one more dance was politely declined."

Strictly star 'scared' to wear glitzy dresses

Strictly star Saffron Barker has admitted she was "scared" to wear glitzy dresses when she took part in the BBC series.

She also discussed the backlash Tilly Ramsay received following LBC's radio host Steve Allen comments on Tilly's weigh.

Saffron took part in the 2019 series of Strictly and was partnered up with AJ Pritchard, who has since left the BBC show.

Saffron began to say: “I was the same age [as Tilly] when I was on the show, so I feel like I've experienced what she has experienced, and it is really tough

“She also got a lot of stick as well, but I don't think she deserved to have that.

“When you’re on the show, you’re working however many hours a day and being the youngest contestant on the show, I think it's a lot.”

Discussing her own experience on Strictly, Saffron explained: “I think being a young girl that was on the show as well, that was something I was most scared of.

“And when I went on the show, wearing certain dresses and stuff, it's completely outside your comfort zone.”

Recap: Who left on the weekend?

Rhys Stephenson has narrowly missed out on a place in the Strictly Come Dancing final after becoming the 11th contestant to be eliminated from the dance competition.

The CBBC presenter, 28, came bottom of the leaderboard during the show’s semi-final on Saturday night after the four remaining couples performed two routines.

Stephenson and his professional partner, Nancy Xu, landed in the dance-off against Bake Off winner John Whaite and his partner Johannes Radebe, where both couples had to reprise one of their dances in a bid to impress the judges and secure their place in the final next week.

After Stephenson and Xu performed their samba to It Had Better Be Tonight (Meglio Stasera) by Michael Buble again, and Whaite and Radebe danced their jive to Higher Power by Coldplay, it was a unanimous decision by the judges to save the TV baker, sending Stephenson packing.

Explained: Is there a theme for the final?

There isn't a theme for Strictly's grand finale.

Based on past editions, finalists will be performing up to three routines in the hopes of dancing all the way to victory.

There is typically the traditional show dance and celebrities will reprise two past dances of the programme.

One of them will be chosen by the Strictly judges who, as usual, will be giving the stars feedback and tips on how to improve their groove.

The public alone can decide who wins as the marks from the judges are only for guidance.
