Tiger King star Joe Exotic has revealed that doctors believe his prostate cancer may have spread to his pelvis and stomach while he has been in prison.
The Netflix star was convicted on 17 federal charges of animal abuse and two counts of attempted murder for hire in his plot to kill nemesis and Big Cat Rescue owner, Carole Baskin in 2019.
The American media personality, who has been serving his 22-year sentence in Texas, claimed in a new interview that he would prefer to die if it is confirmed that the cancer is stage three or four.
Speaking to The Sun, the 58-year-old stated: ‘I have been waiting for a colonoscopy and endoscopy since October. Medical treatment in a prison is worse than at any humane society for dogs.’
Exotic, real name Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage, explained that he was recently forced to undergo a CT scan last week and the results were not encouraging.
He continued: ‘They are concerned it is in my stomach and pelvis. I have not had any treatment or anything since May. I puke when I pee – the pain is that bad.
‘I’m losing weight all the time and the pain in my hip and pelvis hurts. I limp to walk. And my stomach has hurt for over a year.’
Exotic said that he hopes to be taken to a specialist medical center for ‘many tests’ including a ‘biopsy of my prostate and bladder, colonoscopy and endoscopy.’
However, the TV star claims that he will refuse medical treatment if the disease has progressed too far as he continued: ‘When we find out where and how bad it is I will decide if I am going to do treatment. If it’s stage three or four I am going to let it take me.’
The former zoo keeper criticized the US criminal justice system over lack of medical treatment for prisoners as he accused prison doctors of ‘not giving a s**t’.
He said: ‘This is crazy how they put people in here and just let you die.
‘The things that I’ve seen and the dead people I’ve seen wheeled out of here is outrageous and it’s time that our president and our politicians hear the truth.’
In May, Exotic had begged to be freed from prison, revealing that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer in a string of tweets.
