Many mums will confirm that you regularly receive unwanted advice and comments when you have a baby.

Two mums joined Channel 4's Steph's Packed Lunch on Monday afternoon to talk about their experiences of parenting when they have dwarfism.

Michelle Harris and Cathy Reay told Steph about the downright rude comments, probing questions and judgy remarks they receive because of their height.

Cathy Reay said mums at a parenting group were incredibly unwelcoming, asking if she knew if her baby would be disabled.

Michelle said she was often asked by other mothers if her son was adopted, as he didn't inherit dwarfism.

Cathy said she was relying on parent and baby groups for support.

She had to make the conscious decision for her second child to stay away from groups to protect them.

Her children are now 7 and 3, and she says her 7-year-old has a "no-nonsense" attitude.

"Another day an older child was staring at her and she said 'what are you looking at?' and I was like 'you go girl!' She's very fierce."

Michelle's son is now ten, and she said he observes and notices the stares.

"He gets questioned by peers, other children and friends. At the park people will ask 'why is your mum small?'"

"Prior to starting school he didn't see any difference, he saw me as his mum. I've had to equip him with the knowledge of how to handle those questions."

Cathy talked about how hard it is educating schools as well as looking after her family.

She said: "I had to relive my trauma of going to school. Its a tough one to get right, you want to support your kids as best you can but also support your own mental health.

One viewer supported Cathy and Michelle: "Oh my goodness! Baby groups and new mum groups can be super toxic for mothers. It's infuriating to watch how they discriminate and harass mums.
