Did anyone have ‘Wendy and Liam potential romance’ on their Emmerdale bingo card for 2023? No? Well, neither did we. In a twist literally none of us were expecting, Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) and Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) may be set to need their temperatures checking, as they find themselves getting closer. But is it as friends – or could it lead to something more?

We’ll see ourselves out after that joke, it’s for the best.

Though, before we do, let us explain this – somewhat bizarre – new storyline.

It’ll become apparent that newly divorced Liam has quite the writing talent – specifically penning crime stories under the name Anna Le Monde.

Wendy will find this out when she spots her colleague acting suspicious in the surgery.

In this new video, Liam is busy printing off a document and shortly heads off, leaving Wendy alone.

However, unbeknownst to Liam, he’s forgotten to pick up the entire file, allowing Wendy to grab one piece of paper and learn his secret.

The twist though? It turns out she’s a bit of a crime fiction enthusiast too, and even offers to help him give the ending of one of his short stories a bit of extra polish.

And when Liam hears Wendy blatantly lying to her partner Bob (Tony Audenshaw) so she can come to a murder mystery convention with him he starts to wonder if he’s getting into more than he bargained for.

As they get closer, where are things going to lead for Wendy and Liam?

And what about Bob?
