Who is shot in Emmerdale and does Billy Fletcher die?

Jun 25, 2019

Things are set to get pretty dramatic in Emmerdale this week as the village is rocked by an armed robbery, a household siege and a shooting.

At the centre of it all is Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) who is under the control of gangster Max but wants him out of his family’s lives forever – and forms a plan with the police to set him up.

Except it all goes wrong – and someone ends up getting shot.

Could it be Billy? Will he make it out of the situation alive?

Here’s what you need to know…

Who is shot in Emmerdale and does Billy Fletcher die?

It’s not yet been confirmed whether Billy is the person who gets shot this week – but he is heavily involved in events leading up to the shooting, sparking inevitable speculation that he could be the victim.

The character, who had been in prison returned to the village on Christmas Day last year as his mum was getting married – and was quickly condemned by the villagers for being part of the gang that terrorised Aaron (Danny Miller) when he was behind bars a few years back.

Despite this, he’s gone out of his way to make amends with not only Aaron but also with his brother Ellis (Asan N’Jie) as well as trying to keep a promise to mum Jessie (Sandra Marvin) to stay out of trouble.

However the reappearance of Max has complicated matters, with his old acquaintance once again attempting to lure him back into a life of crime.

How does he try to set Max up?

Billy gets involved with a robbery Max is planning, with the latter warning him not to mess up – but unbeknown to him, Billy has secretly been working with the police in a bid to get him jailed once and for all.

Which means that the cops intercept the crime before it’s even happened – and later tell Billy they cannot guarantee Max didn’t know he was their informant.

Except Max has found out – and is determined to get revenge, as Billy discovers when Jessie calls him urgently to say that he is at theirs and he has a gun.

Someone’s clearly going to get hurt in the ensuing struggle as Billy rushes home – but we’ll just have to keep watching to find out who it is.

Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV at 7pm.
