Who was Michael Williams?
A Liverpool native, Michael studied at RADA before embarking on a career on-stage.
In 1962 – at the age of 25 – Michael secured his first film role and began to cross over into the world of television and cinema.

When did Michael Williams die?
Michael Williams tragically passed away on 11 January 2001 after losing his battle with lung cancer.
Just one day before, on January 10 2001, Michael was appointed as a Knight of St Gregory by Pope John Paul II in recognition of his work for the Catholic church.
After his death, Judi revealed that she's never fully recovered and still believes that Michael's ghost regularly visits her at the home they once shared.
Speaking on That Gaby Roslin Podcast, Judi said: "his presence is very much in our house, and the garden and everything."
She then revealed that she had once found a tin on the floor in front of her with the words "I love you" emblazoned across the top after sensing Michael's spirit in the home.
She explained that, "whether people say it's just your imagination… I think those are the kind of things that just happen at the most perfect time."
Did Michael Williams have children with Judi Dench?
A year after marrying, Michael and Judi welcomed a daughter.
